The technological advancements in the field of communication immensely impact and alter the established social practices. The clear differentiation between communication disciplines like advertising, public relations and marketing communications is no longer relevant to the contemporary tendencies, which require an integrated approach towards the communication strategy of both governmental and private entities. The theoretical framework of these altered models for information distribution and consumption is still being formed in the newly rising academic field of communication management. In cooperation with our colleagues from the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) we intend to host the 12th edition of the Central and Eastern European Communication and Media Conference (CEECOM 2019) at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The call for panels is currently open and additional details can be found at our Call for Panels and Papers page.

Some of the key topics we are interested to explore during the conference include (but are not limited to):

  • Theoretical aspects of communication management
  • Practitioners’ perspectives on communication management
  • Integration of different communication channels
  • The role of context in communication
  • Public diplomacy
  • Digital impact on the communication landscape

It is important to emphasize that contributions are welcome from the entire spectrum of communication and media studies. The categories referenced above should serve as a broad frame for reference but are by no means an exhaustive list. If you have any further questions, please, do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail:
